What we aim for
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. We are a two-person business and have not commissioned a formal audit, so this is a statement of intent and of what has actually been built, not a certification.
What is in place
- Text contrast of at least 4.5:1 against its background throughout; body text is considerably higher.
- Every page works from the keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a skip link to the main content.
- Headings are in order and used for structure, not for size.
- Images that carry meaning have alternative text; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Forms have real labels, and errors say what is wrong and how to fix it.
- Text reflows to a single column at 400px and can be zoomed to 200% without loss of content.
- Animation is suppressed entirely when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Nothing relies on colour alone: stock status, order status and errors all carry text as well.
Known gaps
- The dashboard used by the shop owner is not held to the same standard. It is not public.
- Product photography alt text is written by us and will improve as real photographs replace placeholders.
- We have not tested with every combination of screen reader and browser.
